Local Cycling Groups

U3A (University of the Third Age) in Wetherby welcomes anyone who is no longer in full time work. They have various Cycling Groups:

  • Cycling for Softies - up to 14 miles (alternate Tuesday and Wednesday mornings weekly);
  • Medium Cycling - 14 to 25 miles (alternate Thursday and Friday mornings weekly);
  • Medium Plus Cycling - 25 to 30 miles (Mondays monthly);
  • Cycling Extra - 35 to 50 miles (Mondays fortnightly); and
  • Off Road Cycling

Each week a new ride will be added to the Wetherby U3A webpage for you to enjoy on your own, or with someone from your household or in a small group.  Please feel free to pick a ride from the list published on the U3A Activities webpage.  If you have any difficulties, please email carolinegreen54@hotmail.com or mobile 07714 287706.

Wetherby Bike Trails (Red Kite & More) - off-road cycling on marked routes around Wetherby, regular Wednesday evening rides. Little Toe (for under 10s) and Devil’s Toenail (for more confident riders) bike tracks, off the Harland Way Wetherby.  Parking at Old Station Road Car Park off Linton Road.

Wetherby Wheelers ride on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays for 18+ years of age; 25 miles plus.

Tadcaster Cycle Sense League specialises in introduction to Time Trialling.

Harrogate Wheel Easy is one of the largest leisure cycling clubs in the UK. Rides are on Wednesdays and Sunday from Hornbeam Park Harrogate.  All distances; all abilities.

Yorkshire Lasses is females only.

Cyclesense in Tadcaster is a club that rides on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Boston Spa Cycling Club rides on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Wetherby Velo meet for rides on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
