Start a Tiny Nursery

I thought it would be a good idea to start a few trees off in my garden ready to plant out in a year or two. We just collected some acorns, prepared a bit of spare garden, laid them out so you can the check spacing and plant about 6″/15cm apart. Once the trees are about to 18″/46cm high, they can be dug up in autumn and planted out. Hopefully, they will grow into a great home for thousands of animals over the years.

Oak Forrest
An oak forest just needs a bit of time 🙂

Aftercare is just keeping the weeds suppressed and water during an extended dry period. It is better to give one good soak rather than little and often.

Good idea but cover it. I planted some acorns in my garden from a special tree and the squirrel ate every one!
